Sidiailles’ lake is a great place to relax in the heart of an unspoiled
Besides all the activities offered (tree adventure, canoe, waterbikes, paintball, bungee jumping), there are several possibilities to discover this exceptional site:
Hiking / mountain biking
There are two routes to walk around the lake and discover many atypical landscapes :
- 5 km family trail: from the nautical base to the castle.
- 17 km sports trail: the great tour of the lake
Beware, in mountain biking, the technical aspects of the trail require a good level of practice.
Climbing
Near the castle, there is a climbing site equipped and accessible for free.
Access is either via the nautical base following the path to the castle (about 20 minutes); or through the village of Saint-Eloy d'Allier. At the exit of the village, take left towards Vervaux for 1 km, then take right towards La Roche. Park in the place called "La Roche" and take the GR21 to the sign « point de vue ». Go down to the river. On the right, you’ll find sectors C, D and E, and on the left, sector A. To find sector B, start from sector A and then follow the river for 50m.

- Equipment: spits, chained stances
- Height: maximum 20 meters
- Rock : good quality schist
Good to know: the site is ideal for initiation, but also for experienced climbers. Educational stances have been set up for the introduction to the big walls.
It is also possible to practice boulder climbing on rocks around the lake.

Fishing
Fishing at Sidiailles’ lake is managed by AAPPMA "La Gaule Culanaise".
The place is classified as a "large inland lake of the 1st category."
Fishing season runs from the Saturday of the opening of trout (early March) to January 31st of the following year.
The Federation's fishing cards can be bought directly from the website or from the Gaule Culanaise trustees’ : Elorine and Saint-Ursin in Culan, Flor'Aline in Châteaumeillant.
